Raven Symone is heading to Broadway! After her latest show got canned, she has been hiding out of the spotlight until now. She is confirmed to be playing the lead act in Sister Act, which she will start preparing for this month. Her debut on the stage for this musical will take place at the end of March. This will be her second stint on Broadway, which she used to do around the age of 5. No word on how long her stint with the show will last.

I am so excited for her! I personally think that Broadway must be harder than filming a series or movie. You don’t get to re-do scenes or make edits. That is something that I think most people would not be able to do. So she must have a strong belief in herself (which she should since she has been doing this for so long) to feel okay to do this. I really hope that she is given rave reviews for the musical just because she is a great at what she does.

How do you feel about her joining Broadway? I think it is exciting for her, but also a change of pace. I am not sure why she feels the need to avoid TV or movies for now, but it does seem to suit her. I hear that doing Broadway leads to having more free time and I can see how that would appeal to her. I certainly hope that everything goes to plan and she can enjoy her time there. It will be fun to hear how well it goes and maybe if I am lucky enough I will be able to see a show of it myself.

Raven Symone is coming back to Broadway! Deadline reports that the 26-year-old actress is taking over the lead role in Sister Act at the end of February.

Raven will take over for Patina Miller as Deloris Van Cartier. Whoopi Goldberg, who played Deloris in the film and its sequel, produces the Broadway adaptation featuring original music by Alan Menken, which opened in April 2011.

Rehearsals will start at the end of February and Raven will make her debut at the end of March for a minimum six-month engagement.

Raven Symone, Gia Mantegna, and Lauren Conrad were all spotted at the 2012 Warner Bros. and InStyle Golden Globe Awards After Party held at The Beverly Hilton hotel on Sunday night (January 15) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Lauren, 25, wore a Paper Crown dress with Jimmy Choo heels and a Christian Louboutin clutch. “Since the dress was so simple, I paired it with a statement clutch and strappy heels. Sometimes, you just have to let the accessories do the talking…” she wrote on her official site. Raven was also spotted at NBCUniversal’s 69th Annual Golden Globes Viewing and After Party Sponsored By Chrysler and Hilton.

Raven Symone looks gorgeous in white at the 50th Anniversary of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital event. The event took place on January 7th at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Raven  is the voice of Iridessa in Disney’s Tinker Bell movies. A new one is coming out titled “Tinker Bell: Secret of the Wings”. According to IMDB, the movie is about “Tinker Bell meets Periwinkle and ventures into the winter woods with her and Tinker Bell’s other friends to find the secret of fairy wings.” It also looks like this may go straight to DVD, but no word on that quite yet.

Looks like the holiday spirit is winning over everyone! Over the weekend, rapper Tyga and Raven-Symone went to distribute toys in the Los Angeles area to underprivileged kids for the holidays. Sources tell us Tyga and Raven-Symone personally purchased the toys provided, and a total of 700 children attended.

*While attending Sheryl Lee Ralph’s DIVAS Simply Singing event last week, Raven Symone’s new slimmed-down physique was on full display, complete with hands resting on the honeycomb-style waist of her long blush dress. The weight loss is something the 25-year-old actress/singer/producer has achieved through the help of a rather unorthodox workout regimen.

“I have a house with stairs,” the former child star tells EURweb. “So I try my best to forget stuff downstairs and go up and down. I also have an elliptical [machine], but I do it whenever my weave isn’t in, when it’s my natural hair, because otherwise my hair gets messed up and I can’t be camera ready.”

Symone, who began producing TV projects while still in her teens, says her current fitness routine and diet are the same ones she practiced back in the day. But, the “That’s So Raven” and “State of Georgia” vet points to a specific reason why the pounds were slower to come off back then.  Listen below.
